124 people took part in the online event Schuman Declaration and the founding European values is the of the activities of project Past2Future. The event took place online on April 29th.
The plenary presentation “Shuman Declaration—9 – 9 May 195: the Day that Changed the Course of History“ was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ingrid Shikova, Sofia University. The presentation gave basic information of the history of the drafting of the Declaration, pointed out the historic and political environment in which it was edited, and emphasized the basic values andnd its modern-day interpretation.
The event also included two small group workshops followed by two large group discussions. The first workshop was dedicated to the influence of the Schuman Declaration in each country and in the world in general. Participants also brainstormed on “What if the Schuman Declaration Never Happened?”. The second workshop was on the topic “If Schuman Had Social Media”. In the frames of the discussions, the university students from Veliko Tarnovo University, ideas for social media post promoting Schuman Declaration and its values, and visuals were created through photos and AI generated images. As a result of the event, 46 posts were designed, which was a remarkable result showing involvement and engagement with the topic.

This online event with participants from 10 European countries /Spain, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Croatia, Malta, Romania and Republic of Kosovo/ and USA showed the excellent topical and methodological approach of the project and a great start of it.
