On 8 June 2026, the final international event of the Past2Future project, funded under the CERV Programme, brought together participants from 14 EU Member States for an inspiring online Citizens’ Debate on the Future of Europe.
The event gathered citizens, civil society organisations, public authorities, Members of the European Parliament, academics, and other stakeholders to reflect on how we can build a more democratic, inclusive, and participatory European Union.
During the event, participants:
🔹 Explored the main achievements and results of the Past2Future project.
🔹 Discovered the Citizens’ Paper, presenting the key ideas and recommendations developed throughout the project.
🔹 Learned about the project’s Flashmob Initiative, celebrating active citizenship across Europe.
🔹 Engaged in an open discussion on European values, citizen participation, and priorities for the future of the European Union.
🔹 Connected with participants from across Europe, strengthening international dialogue and cooperation.
The event marked the successful conclusion of the Past2Future journey while highlighting the importance of continuing to empower citizens, especially young people, to actively participate in shaping Europe’s future.
