On June 23, 2025, a dynamic and thought-provoking workshop titled “Understanding European Integration: Past, Present, and Future” took place in Madrid as part of the Communication and Dissemination activities for the Past2Future project. This in-person event, brought together a diverse group of young participants, including NEETs, migrants, and Third Country Nationals, with the aim of deepening their understanding of the European Union (EU) and how its integration affects daily life across the continent.

Participants learned about the historical evolution of EU integration, the goals and activities of the project, and the strength of its international partnerships. The discussion also included a review of how communication tools and social media are being used to promote EU values and connect young people across Europe. The group also took part in a hands-on interactive activity by brainstorming their visions for the EU in the year 2035. The discussion sparked lively exchanges and imaginative ideas about how the EU could evolve to become more inclusive, sustainable, and democratic in the years ahead.
